the sb approachRelational & Experiential
Being a relational practice doesn’t mean we only work with couples and families (although we do LOVE them). It means we are always paying attention to what happens between people, groups, and systems. Whether it’s your friends, partner, family, workplace, community, or even local policy and politics, we understand that your ability to be well and love well is heavily impacted by all of it. Most of the hurt people carry happened in relationships, and we believe that’s usually where the healing happens too.
Our experiential approach is intentional. We work with what shows up in the room as it’s happening. Shifts in posture, the way you change the subject, the emotional response you constantly push down. We don’t shy away from naming what’s happening and feeling through all the moments with you. Secondly, we support you with more than just conversation. Sometimes you may create the thing instead of describing it. Sometimes you’ll practice the hard conversation before you actually have it. And sometimes you might even play a game, or move your body, to support the progress toward your goals.

We're asking you to trust us with a lot. So let's start here.
None of us set out to be a therapist.
We each came to this work from somewhere else, and we left things behind to get here. Starting Soulful Bloom wasn't a small decision, but we are reminded often that it was the right one.
We created a practice we actually like running, with people we love working with, our colleagues and our clients both. We laugh a lot around here. We're also serious about the things worth being serious about, creating space for our clients to be their full selves, ethical therapy, good clinical work. Oh, and defending the fact that the 90s and 2000s were the best eras of music. Hip hop and R&B, to be specific… but let’s get back to the point.
We don't just quietly empathize in the therapy room, and we're not doing whatever wellness thing is trending. What we're interested in is change you can feel, and honestly, that usually shows up smaller than people expect. It's a conversation that goes differently than it would have six months ago. It's feeling just a little drop of hope where there was none. And ultimately, what we desire for all of our clients is that the small changes add up to truly living, loving, and being well. So however you found us, we're glad you did.
And if you're ready to begin, we're right here.
